Community Counseling Referrals Although I love meeting with students individually, and am absolutely available to do short-term counseling and intervention, I may talk to you about referring out to a mental health practitioner in the community who will be able to see your child on a more consistent long-term basis. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss whether or not your child may benefit from longer-term individual or family counseling, and you may also want to read this helpful article which goes into more detail about the when, why, and how of finding a therapist.
Here is a list of mental health resources in the community, and please note you can also find referrals from your child's pediatrician, by calling your insurance, or through your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) if you have one.
